(12 Feb) "gold rush" cover to Victoria bearing overhanging 2d pair (creased) and single (cut-into) cancelled by diamond '23' of Salisbury with datestamp alongside, addressed to Melbourne and later endorsed 'Or Somewhere/on the diggings', handstamp on reverse, some faults. A wonderful survivor of a time when entire cities were nearly emptied of people who all were off to the diggings to find gold. It must have been a postmans nightmare!
