Boston 2026 World Expo

Tony Shields has attended Stamp and Coins shows all around the world in his 50 years of business. Most recently he attended the World Stamp Exhibition 2026 in Boston, which is the largest stampshow to be held anywhere in the world this year! A truly exciting event.

At a show of this calibre there will always be interesting and unique items to view and purchase - the most expensive item Tony saw at the Boston Expo 2026 was the finest USA inverted centre Jenny airmail stamp at AUD $1,000,000.

The building that hosted the World Expo was huge and vast numbers of collectors from around the globe attended including collectors and colleagues that Tony has dealt with for up to 50 years - this is something we are very proud of at Shields Stamps and Coins. Queues of enthusiasts lined up every day for new issues which were released at the show so collectors could get their covers signed by the designers – a great idea.

“It was amazing to be at the opening ceremony and the official launch of the USA stamps for 250th anniversary of the revolution. Better still, I had my envelope signed by the US Postmaster General, the Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts and my friend the President of the International Federation of Philately” – Tony Shields

To encourage new collectors there were over five million stamps being given away and we heard from one collector that they found a Chinese 1980 Monkey Stamp - which sells for about AUD $700! It was exciting to see lots of people every day sorting through the tables to find a treasure!

From all of us at Shields Stamps and Coins - Congratulations to the organisers on an excellent Boston 2026 World Expo!
